In the State of Florida, Dr. Meek is a Qualified Supervisor for both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy.  Under this credential Dr. Meek supervises registered interns in good standing who are pursuing the LMHC and/or the LMFT in the state.

Dr. Meek has not only completed the state required training to be a Qualified Supervisor, he also holds a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from the College of William & Mary.  In addition to clinical training, his doctoral work focused on the education and training of counseling professionals.  Since achieving his doctorate degree, Dr. Meek has been a full time faculty member at Barry University and currently at Troy University, both CACREP accredited institutions, where he has taught counseling courses and supervised student interns.  He supervises registered interns through his private practice. 

 

Dr. Meek's approach to supervision is decidedly developmental and he is attentive to not only the acquisition and application of clinical knowledge, but also the manner and complexity from which interns understand their clients holistically.  As a gatekeeper for the field, Dr. Meek values and promotes multicultural competency and ethical behavior.
